Crazy Crafters January SAB blog hop with Connie Stewart

Hi all and welcome to the Crazy Crafters January blog hop featuring the gorgeous Connie Stewart as our guest.
This month we are excited to show off our Sale-a-Bration products.  We hope you find some terrific inspiration from all of the gorgeous makings. So be sure to go through our whole hop so you don't miss any exciting creations.  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Tamie Holt or you may have come from the person previous to me which is Jessie Holton.  Be sure to look further down for the full line up to continue your journey on this blog hop.

.

So for this months project I used the new The Sky is The Limit stamp set that you can get FREE if you spend $90 on any current product.  There is so much that can be done with this set and I can't wait to make more things with it.  The first card I have made is by far my favourite, but I love them all (leave your comments on which is your favourite).  My daughter absolutely loves the world, all different countries so as soon as this embossing folder came out I knew I had to get it.  The colours used are Marina Mist, which I sponged direct onto the embossing folder.  Wild Wasabi for the land and Smoky Slate for the plane and the sentiment.  By the way who loves the Wink of Stella pens??? Oh my goodness they are awesome.  I can see me needing to buy a lot of those lol.  I used the pens on the propellers of each of the planes and on the sentiments ;)

I have used the same set here but for this one I used Real Red ink and stamped direct to the NEW Perfectly Artistic sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper.  Which you can get FREE when you order $90 of any current product.  They are in a pack with lots of different colours, so beautiful.

This is the other side of the same Perfectly Artistic DSP.  So pretty.  I can see me using a lot of this one its so pretty and subtle.

Well until next time stay well and happy crafting xx

Grateful Bunch Occasions Catalog Timeless Texture First Sight

Todays card I made just because... I went to my Exciting New Products and wanted to use a bunch of them together. So this is what I came up with.  There is three layers to the card.  All on Very Vanilla Card.

The bottom layer I left plain.  The second layer I used the leafy (kinda right) image from the Timeless Textures Set.  I stamped it with Crumb Cake and sponged the edges with Cajun craze about 5mm in from the edge, and then around the outside with Crumb Cake.

Top layer I stamped with the wood grain stamp from Timeless Textures set I stamped it with Soft Suede stamped off once. then I used the big filigree stamp from First Sight stamp stet for the background for the flowers to sit on. and the little leaves around the edges from the same set.  I lightly sponged the whole card front with Crumb Cake ink (very sparingly) and then sponged around the edges first with Cajun Craze then Crumb Cake.

The flowers, omg the flowers. I have been waiting for something like this to come out since I joined lol. These flowers are from the new Grateful Bunch stamp set.  I inked the stamps in the So Saffron ink pad then added a little Cajun Craze to the centre of each flower with my Stampin' Write marker.  I then shaped them with my scoring tool (I will do a video soon on how I do that) I sponged a little more colour into them to suit my taste with those same two colours then I layered them up.  Some are on Stampin' Dimensionals and some are straight to card.  The sentiment came from the Grateful bunch set too, I stamped in Crumb cake and did a little soft sponging with all of the colours I have used in the card to soften it. Added some antique Brads and adhered with Dimensionals.  Layered the card up and here we are :).

Well I hope you like it be sure to leave a comment, I love hearing from people.  And of course if you have any questions or want me to do any particular stamp set or technique send me a message :)

#GDP017 Bloomin Hearts

Oh! My! Goodness!  I am so excited!  NEW PRODUCTS...! (could you hear me singing that? lol. Add to that a Brian King Challenge and I am in heaven.
Have you ever seen something in a catalogue and instantly loved it?  Yeah me too this is one of the many of those (so be prepared for lots of new creations with the new products coming your way).

So this is my spin on the GDP017 challenge.  These colours are gorgeous, and i couldn't think of a nicer collection of colours to work with for this product.

So my base was Very Vanilla.  Everything was Very Vanilla actually.  The Bloomin Heart Thinlits Dies are just out of this world, I gently sponged the cut out image with Crumb Cake Ink on a sponge dauber. I cut out enough flowers to cover the blank spaces and sponged the edges with Rose Red.  I thin put a post it note through the big shot so i had a stencil to sponge Rose Red directly to the card front to give a little more colour. The center of the flower cut outs I defined using a little Garden Green ink on my Aqua Painter and I also used tiny silver brads which i white embossed and then coloured with Garden Green ink and the clear embossed. The stamp set used for the sentiment was First Sight.  The words are in crumb cake and the little leaves are in Garden Green and from the same stamp set.  I added a little linen ribbon to finish it off. Sponged the edges of the card front and the sentiment and assembled it.

So I hope you get a little joy from my card and maybe a little inspiration.  If you have anything you would like to know that i haven't covered here be sure to contact me and I'll answer as soon as I see your message.

Pals Paper Arts 281 The Open Sea

Hi everyone thanks for joining me todays card is for the PPS281 challenge.  I saw a card that my gorgeous friend Angela Lorenz did (she is so uber talented! don't you think?) and thought I have an idea for that.

http://palspaperarts.com/

So this is the card I came up with.  I can't say I am 100% in love with it but it's ok.  I am still learning what to do to get enough grunge (I get scared of messing up a card and wasting it (anyone know the feeling?)

I used The Open Sea stamp set and the spots out of the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I used Very Vanilla cardstock for a base and Garden Green for my next layer.  The colours used were Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand.  The world stamped using marker to stamp as I wanted to colour the land green direct.  The latitude lines I used Crumb Cake.  I sponged the sea with Marina Mist.  I distressed the edges screwed it all into a ball and and sponged over the creases and around the edges.

Well I hope something here tickles your fancy. Be sure to leave a comment and don't forget to follow me by email so you don't miss any posts :)

Until next time stay well and happy crafting xx

Freshly Made Sketches #217 You Got This

Hi welcome to my first blog of 2016.

All those new years resolutions floating around... What's yours?  I have a goal I'm not big on resolutions, my goal is to post at least once a week, I would love to do it daily but I'm not sure I can do that. So here is my card for this week (be sure to check in often or subscribe as I may be able to get to do them more often some weeks). I decided to do a challenge today and so I decided to join FMS217.  I loved this sketch for the simplicity of the design.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com.au/
For my card I have used the You've Got This stamp set.  I stamped the background in Tip Top Taupe ink, the stem I did in Certainly Celery.  The flower, sentiment and sponging I did in Delightful Dijon.

I simply put some two way glue on the stems and popped some Dimensionals under the flower and sentiment and voilah.

So I hope you like it and be sure to leave a comment as I love feedback.  And don't forget to subscribe... then you'll never miss a post.

Well until next time happy crafting and stay well xx
